Review

jackpot joyBingo is more than just a game. For most players, the appeal of traditional bingo clubs is the lavish environment, as well as the chance to socialise with friends and have fun. Jackpot Joy understand this perfectly, and have worked hard to create a sensory rich site which works extremely well on a number of levels. The first thing that struck us about this site is the amount of attention that has gone into its design. The layout is logical and clear, with a simple menu on the main page which makes for easy navigation, and the use of colour (which has obviously been carefully planned by someone who’s an expert in these things) seemed to lift our mood all on its own.

The site makes heavy use of pop-up windows, and although this might not appeal to some players (especially those who have pop-up blockers running by default on their PCs), we found it to be a sensible approach which didn’t hamper our enjoyment one bit. The fact that games load quickly on screen (and don’t require you to download any special software) also makes for an easy and straightforward playing experience.

Opening an account to play for fun or for real takes just a few minutes, and requires you to enter the usual personal details (name, address, credit/debit card information) before you can make your first deposit, which needs to be £10 or more (although this will earn you an automatic £10 bonus, so you’ll have £20 to play with). That done, you can start playing by selecting the game of your choice and buying cards for the next session.

The social aspect of the game is recreated nicely at Jackpot Joy by providing a number of rooms that suit different people. For example, you could join the Over 40s room and expect to chat with people over 40, or maybe try the Singles Bar if that’s more suitable. The chat facility is reliable and the presence of room hosts (who will, if you’re fortunate, offer you some traditional “lucky dust”!) ensures that conversations are always friendly and enjoyable.

The bingo games themselves are great fun, and make full use of the audio capabilities of the modern PC. Numbers are called professionally, and because your PC marks your cards automatically, you can play many more cards than you would be able to handle in a traditional bingo hall. For example, when playing Bingo Gold you can buy 100 cards (which would cost you £25) and get 50 bonus cards absolutely free. Of course, if you’d prefer to be more careful with your money, £1 will buy you 4 cards and get you 2 bonus cards into the bargain.

Many of the games here offer progressive jackpots which pay out if you win within a certain amount of time, and the payouts here can be substantial (we’re talking five figures in many cases). So, if you’d like the chance to win big money as well as the usual cash prizes, look out for these opportunities. With six figures being paid out on a daily basis (it was over £800,000 for the previous day at the time of writing this review) you can bet there are plenty of winners around!

All in all, this is an excellent bingo site, and one which every bingo fan should visit at least once. It provides some great games, a superb playing environment, and the chat facilities that can help you make some good friends online.
