Big Box Bingo games are played much like any other 90 ball bingo game. Game cards, which cost £1.50 each, are available from the web site and you can choose to print the cards out yourself or have them sent to you by mail. There are six games played over the course of the evening, so buying one card for each would cost you £9 in total. This compares very well with the cost of a night out at a traditional bingo club, but does the experience itself compare just as well, or is interactive television bingo a poor alternative to the real thing? In our opinion, this game can be every bit as enjoyable as traditional club bingo. All games are presented with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm by Greg “Greggles” Scott, who has been working both in front of and behind the television cameras for a number of years. The numbers board is a huge grid and as numbers are called by Greg, a cheery group of people navigate the grid on foot and manually activate them. Each of the six games boasts a jackpot of £100,000. The game itself is 90 ball bingo, and prizes are paid for any single line and the full house. If you get a full house in 35 numbers or less, you win the £100,000 jackpot (or a share thereof if there is more than one winner). Get a house within 40 balls and the jackpot is £2,000. Prizes for single lines and any full house in 41 balls or more vary from game to game. The TV show is unashamedly glitzy, with more sparkle than you would find in a diamond mine, but don’t think that the interactive game only appeals to the female of the species. A huge amount of men play Big Box Bingo – a fact that can be seen in the number of male winners the show has. We might be wrong, but we suspect that proportionately more men play Big Box Bingo than at traditional clubs. If the six chances of wining £100,000 aren’t enough for you, there is also the option of participating in a £10 million Superdraw. This is a lottery-style game which requires you to pick seven numbers. Entry costs just £1, and if you match all six numbers plus the bonus ball, you win the £10,000,000 jackpot. Match fewer numbers and you could still be quids in, because prizes are paid right down to just two matching numbers (the prize in that case being a full refund of your entry fee). The only thing that could be said to be lacking in the Big Box Bingo experience is the social element. However, this isn’t nearly as noticeable as one might imagine, and if it bothers you it an easy solution is to invite a group of friends to play along with you. With massive prizes, enthusiastic presentation and accessibility via Sky television or the www.bigboxbingo.com web site, Big Box Bingo is an excellent alternative to a night out at a bingo club. In fact, when you consider that you won’t need to wait for ages in the rain for a bus home, and you can smoke while playing, it could even be viewed as being a superior experience. Try playing for yourself and we think you’ll find that Tuesdays evenings become one of the high points of your week. Play Now |
