Although we here in the UK may appreciate the much loved game of Bingo it seems not everyone in the world is quite so appreciative.

Towards the end of last year, holidaymakers in Turkey were taking part in a Charity fund-raising night, when police raided the Pyramid Bar in the popular tourist resort of Altinkum.

It is claims that 6 men and women were questioned for hours on end and then fined £55.

It would seem that Bingo is in fact against the law in Turkey, as it looked upon as an unregulated form of gambling. The raid was the second of its kind in the resort in the past 15 months.

The arrest had angered many residents as the night was, in actual fact, in aid of charity raising money towards the medical costs of women recovering from Cancer. It seems residents may now face a criminal record as well as the £55 fine. Local residents conveyed how disgusted they were especially considering the night was for a good cause.
