Wink Bingo postpone bonus change

It was only late last week that we bought you details of an impending change to the welcome bonus at Wink Bingo. Originally this change was set to have taken place yesterday but the powers that be at Wink Bingo have postponed the bonus change until 1st April 2010. You could be forgiven for believing that this is some sort of April fool but this online bingo site have extended the free bingo bonus in order to give their members ‘time to get used to the idea’.

Why this is we don’t really understand as a Wink Bingo player can only claim the bonus once meaning that only new players to the site are eligible to claim the current £15 free, no deposit required, welcome bonus. It isn’t like this change from Wink Bingo will adversely affect players who have already deposited at the site.

We have already speculated as to the reason for the change and attributed it to the purchase of Wink Bingo by 888. After all you don’t want two of your brands competing against each other with one having the advantage of a no deposit bonus whilst the other has a deposit required welcome bonus for new players.

It could also be that the postponement has come about when Wink Bingo have looked more closely at new sites in the bingo market, sites like ITV Bingo who, like Wink, are standalone on the 888/Globalcom software but are currently offering a £10, no deposit required, carrot for new players to their online bingo site.

Whatever the reason for the delay it’s all good news for new players to Wink Bingo, they have another month in which to grab a free bingo bonus before they have to deposit in order to play the games.
