Tombola Island bingo advert

Back in March of this year the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) received a complaint that led to an adjudication against the advert for Tombola Bingo meaning that they could no longer show their TV bingo advert in its present format. This meant that the site had to stop showing the advert and for this reason we are soon to see a new Tombola Island bingo advert in line with the new look tropical themed bingo site.

Previously the adverts for Tombola Bingo used a fairground theme but this led to the conclusion drawn by the ASA that it could appeal to children or young adults; something that is not appropriate in the advertising of any online gaming site.

Although the infamous bingo balls with smiley faces are still used at Tombola Bingo are we going to see them in the new Tombola Island bingo advert? Over four days Tombola Bingo will be providing interviews with the ad agency, Euro RSCG, and there will be four main TV bingo adverts being shot in just four days. The themes, according to the blog, are to be “Vine”, “Backing Singer”, “Postman” and “Arrival” - it all sounds very interesting and it will be great to see this online bingo site back to advertising on our television screens!
