The luck of the Irish at Wink Bingo

Wink Bingo seem to be upping their game when it comes to advertising on television of late; not only have we seen them sponsor The Cube on ITV1 every Saturday night but they have also recently launched a new campaign featuring a dancing dog. It would appear that there is a touch of the luck of the Irish at Wink Bingo with the theme tune to the new online bingo advert being an Irish jig. The new campaign features a dancing Weirmaraner although you would have thought it more apt to use an Irish setter!

Obviously the new television campaign, as with the previous Jump for Joy offering from Wink Bingo, uses a fair bit of digital wizardry as the dog manages to perform to the standard of Michael Flatly, something that even the best trained dog wouldn’t be able to do!

The luck of the Irish at Wink Bingo is apparent in like all bingo adverts the actress becomes a winner whilst playing online bingo at her laptop and this inspires her to take her pooch for a little spin around the living room!

As far as TV bingo adverts go, it’s inspired in some ways but in others seems to lose touch with the brand. Something we have seen in recent campaigns and sponsorship deals featuring animals; where is the link between the household pets and a game of online bingo?

This new advert from Wink Bingo may grab the attention of the wrong type of audience, it’s likely to appeal more to the younger generation than it is to the demographic that it is aiming for meaning that Wink Bingo could soon be under fire from the Advertising Standards Agency!
