St Miniver predicts further growth in online bingo industry

The UK's online bingo industry has experienced rapid and extensive growth throughout 2008. Key players and fledgling operators in the online bingo industry alike are continually upping the ante in the search for new and innovative ways to offer bingo games which will satisfy more experienced players and attract newcomers at the same time.

There are currently in excess of 250 online bingo sites vying for the attention of new customers, in particular, the under 35's, who now account for more than 25% of online bingo players.

Although the market has developed at an astonishing rate, experts are predicting that the market will continue to grow and evolve, with more active eGaming businesses adding online bingo to their existing portfolios at a steady rate.

The managing director of St Miniver, one of the largest online bingo operators in the UK, who lay claim to the operation of many of the more popular online bingo site such as Littlewoods Bingo, Virgin Bingo and Chit Chat Bingo, recently commented:-

"Bingo will continue to benefit from increased broadband penetration and operators will ever increasingly seek to tap into female database segments, which were traditionally unwilling to take part in other forms of online gaming. We predict that the next 12 months will see some consolidation but the operators with engaging propositions will prevail and profit from increased player numbers."
