Splitting a bingo jackpot

share

When you play online bingo it sometimes happens that you win bingo on a number that someone else has also been waiting for and when this happens the jackpot is split equally between the players who have called bingo. However, there appears to be a little furore happening over at Think Bingo on their forum about splitting a bingo jackpot when one of the winners manages to secure a win on two tickets rather than one.

The issue seems to have arisen because one player called bingo on two tickets whilst another on just one ticket yet Think Bingo split the pot prize equally between the two players. Surely the prize should have been split based on the number of winning tickets not on the number of players that called bingo?

If you were to buy two National Lottery tickets with the same numbers on and all six numbers were drawn, Camelot would not insist that only half of the prize fund was yours, it would all be yours.

Reading through the comments on the Think Bingo forum it would appear that this is not the first time this situation has arisen and whilst some players had a response to their query and received a credit to their account to rectify the error, others are being told that there is no error.

What online bingo requires is consistency, something that in this situation seems to be lacking. However, we are sure that the management at Think Bingo will address this query in a timely manner and the disgruntled player will soon be appeased.
