Patriotic online bingo

Today is St Patrick's Day as many online bingo players will know simply from the emails received from many a site boasting their themed promotions. There are specific Irish bingo sites available but all our emails seem to be from the UK bingo sites and this then begs the question will the same sites be pulling out all the stops for St. George's Day? Whilst we completely applaud these patriotic online bingo sites, surely the fuss and furore should be equal for all patron saints?

Performing a Google search for 'St Georges Day bingo promotion' for last year themed around the English patron saint seemed a little thin on the ground. Ladbrokes Bingo offered four days of free bingo, Betfred Bingo offered a 100% deposit bonus to all players on their first transaction of the day and Crown Bingo gave away 5 prizes to the five players who won the most bingo games.

Perform the same search in Google but for St Patrick's Day and the 2009 results show far more themed on the Irish patron saint than our own.

It's not only bingo online that doesn't appear to make the effort for the English patron saint, a large percentage of English people probably couldn't even tell you the date of St.George's Day. For those readers who don't know, it's 23rd April.

Along the same vein, how many patriotic online bingo promotions where there for St David's Day on 1st March and similarly for St Andrew's Day on 30th November? With the UK bingo market being one, if not the, largest in the world and England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland being part of the UNITED KINGDOM, shouldn't all the patron saints be treated equally?
