Online Bingo Rooms Close To US Residents

Online Bingo Rooms Close To US ResidentsFollowing the much-publicised outlawing of internet gambling by the US government, many online bingo rooms are now closing their doors to US residents. The president of the USA recently signed The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 which prevents US banks from touching any transaction related to online gambling. This means that any site which makes it possible for US players to participate in bingo, poker, casino games or any other form of internet gambling are helping to break the law.

Not only does this mean that online bingo is beyond the reach of American players, but it also means that the rest of us suffer. With fewer players in the game, prizes will be smaller, the previously rapid launch of new bingo rooms will be slower and we won’t have the pleasure of chatting with our friends across the pond.

Quite why the US government chose to outlaw internet gambling as opposed to looking at more serious issues such as gun control is something that millions of people are asking themselves. It isn’t logical and it certainly isn’t fair to the thousands of American bingo enthusiasts who now have to visit a bricks and mortar club if they want to play their favourite game.

Whilst the majority of online bingo rooms are quickly declaring themselves “no go areas” for US citizens, a handful of sites are keeping things unchanged and hoping that someone comes to their senses before the government starts prosecuting.

US players are advised to avoid gambling online in order to protect their own interests should prosecutions be targeted at individuals. However, many people believe that The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 is unconstitutional, and are continuing to play at the few sites that are allowing this. We advise all US players who want to defend their right to play gambling games online to visit the National Right for Online Gaming site at www.nrog.org.
