There are many reasons why a site will offer new players a welcome bonus and the type of bonus that is offered varies from site to site. However of late we have seen many established sites alter their bonus and this begs the question ‘Why all the online bingo bonus changes?’ There are many different types of player in the world of internet bingo, some are bonus hunters, others are high rollers and some just love a freebie.

What we cant understand is why each online bingo site tries desperately to cater for a certain type of player then alters there online bingo bonus to attract a different sort of player. Their welcome bonus for new players was, up until recently, a 200% cash match on their first deposit. This kind of offer deters the bingo bonus hunter and caters for the more serious player. However, a recent change in their welcome bonus has seen this dropped in favour of a free bingo room for new players.

Whilst we understand that every online bingo site wants to make money, surely it would be more advisable to “specialise” rather then try and follow the lead of other sites that don’t have the same member base.

As bingo players, the competition between sites is always going to be beneficial to us as each site competes to grab our custom but it would be simpler all round if operators stuck to what they know works. Stop experimenting with your welcome bonuses, they worked and built your site to what it is today, why change it?
