My Tombola

My Tombola is the latest addition to Tombola Bingo and is this online bingo sites equivalent of Facebook or Twitter offering their players to interact with other players at the site by uploading photos and updating their My Tombola status.  Is this type of social networking at online bingo sites something that may catch on?

Facebook and Twitter are a phenomenon that are growing daily and the introduction of My Tombola at Tombola Bingo suggests that this bingo site feels it is something worth exploring but with the introduction come a few rules that you many not find on other social networking sites.

The rules, whilst different from those on Facebook or Twitter, have to account for the fact the My Tombola is at an online bingo site.  Tombola Bingo, understandably, will not want their players advertising other online bingo sites or directing their friends to bingo portals advertising the same so is My Tombola not going to be extremely difficult to police? With a huge member base surely the odd site address is going to slip into one of the social networking profiles and without software to detect this a member of staff would need to police the profiles daily.

Whilst My Tombola is a great concept and obviously of benefit to Tombola Bingo and it’s players is this bingo site potentially leaking “juice” by offering this new social networking type tool to their online bingo site?
