Mobile Bingo discussed at Mobile Gambling Summit
At the 5th Annual European Mobile Gambling Summit, at the Regent Park Marriott Hotel in London last month, the introduction of a fully operational bingo product completely accessible via mobile phones was one of the topics earmarked for discussion.
80 guests from various e-gambling software groups and mobile phone operators discussed the topic at length throughout the two day conference.
Whilst there has been a rapid progression in the production of mobile versions of many casino games such as Poker and Blackjack, it would appear that there is still room for improvement in the production of mobile bingo.
A number of software suppliers confirmed that they are currently exploring the possibility of linking internet bingo sites to mobile phone networks, but acknowledged that it may be more than three years before the product was advanced enough to attract the affections of a mass audience.
The majority of online bingo operators declared that their immediate priority was to enable existing online bingo players access via their mobiles as a way to generate extra revenue rather than winning new customers.
The fantastic growth opportunities available to online bingo operators via mobile bingo look set to pave the way for mobile bingo to become the next division for development in the bingo industry.
Some major online operators such as Mecca Bingo and Ladbrokes Bingo have already opened up the world of mobile bingo technology to existing online players. With technology which allows them to link up to Mecca or Ladbrokes Bingo operations via the mobile airwaves wherever and whenever they choose to.
