Is the free bingo craze here to stay?

Up until February this year many internet bingo sites offered a few free bingo sessions but the launch of Cheeky Bingo saw that all change. This bingo site was the first of its kind to offer free bingo all day with real cash prizes on offer and since then we have seen new bingo sites launch with similar offerings and even the more established sites have started to offer free bingo in some form or another. So is the free bingo craze here to stay or is it merely a fad that will be around whilst we all suffer financially in the current economic climate?

Statistics show that one in three online bingo players have accounts with a free bingo site like Cheeky Bingo, Costa Bingo or the most recently launched, Foxy Zero. Others that were previously on a network of sites have moved to a standalone platform and now offer free bingo all day as well. The first to make this move was Posh Bingo and the change has seen this bingo site move forward and become more prominent in the world of online bingo.

Big names like Mecca Bingo have offered free bingo both in their land based bingo halls and online for a number of years but never to the extent of the free bingo craze we are currently seeing.

How long can these free bingo sites sustain the cash prize giveaways whilst still being able to maintain a good level of profit? It is apparent that whilst sites like Costa Bingo offer free bingo to the masses all day, every day there is an expectation that the free bingo players will soon become bored of hoping to win a small cash amount and progress to the pay to play bingo games.
