Gala go green

Gala Bingo have responsibly decided to do their bit to help save our planet and have joined forces with energy provider Southern Electric to launch a new environmentally friendly initiative which is designed to help save consumers cash as well as saving energy and carbon dioxide emissions.

All land based Gala Bingo clubs and 370 Sue Ryder charity shops in the UK will between them give away in excess of 3million environmentally friendly energy saving light bulbs, which if used in our homes could help save a collective total of £11million in energy costs, and which could also reduce carbon emissions by a massive 39,200 tonnes.

A spokesperson for Southern Electric said in a statement:

"Even though people may think it's almost too small to make an impact, it is an important step in the right direction; and if everyone who collects a free pack of bulbs installs them, the resulting total impact will certainly be significant."

Every bit of publicity can only be beneficial to both the Gala and Southern Electric initiative and the Sue Ryder Charity Trust whom Gala have supported for a while now, and Gala have an extensive history of involvement with charitable causes and have taken part in many fund-raising campaigns in the past.

The Sue Ryder Charity Trust provides vital help and support to victims of serious and terminal illnesses and their carers.
