Gala bingo offer charity £1m lifeline

A household name in the bingo industry has confirmed its intention to raise a whopping £1million for charity over the coming 18 month period.

Employees and members of Gala Bingo's land based bingo halls and online bingo sites pledged to raise as much cash as possible and voted to focus their fund-raising endeavours on the Sue Ryder Care Charity, which offers help and support to sufferers of serious and terminal illnesses such as cancer patients stroke victims.

The charity also provides vital support to the sufferers' carers and families and is established throughout the UK and 12 other countries in Europe and Southern Africa.

Gala Bingo, which is part of the Gala Coral Group has a broad history of involvement with charitable causes and has taken part in many fund-raising schemes in the past.

Sue Ryder Care is reported to be delighted to have been chosen for the campaign which will operate throughout all Gala Bingo divisions. The cash raised will allow Sue Ryder Care to keep up their support work and will help to boost the amount of hours of care and support that they provide each year from an impressive 4 million to an incredible 10 million.
