The changing face of online bingo
Back in 2005 I was only aware that there was one online bingo site, I’d seen an advert on television and merrily went along to play remaining loyal to the one site for two years. It was only when I decided that I fancied a change that I became aware of the number of sites actually available on the internet. Since my first steps into the world of online bingo I have seen numerous sites appear, some close, and many morph into something completely different. The changing face of online bingo is a great thing for players because as more sites launch, the market place becomes more competitive as each brand vies for your custom.
Not only have more sites launched but big operators and software providers have merged in an effort to be the best they can be. We have seen Cashcade, the name behind online bingo giant Foxy Bingo, sell out to Party Gaming and more recently Wink Bingo’s operators, Daub Ltd, sell to 888. So what happens when sales like this go ahead, do the brands change, their ethos waiver from the original plan?
Some may think this is the case with Foxy Bingo but what players have to remember is that whilst ownership may have changed, the people working at the site and tirelessly behind the scenes haven’t. Whilst PartyGaming may now hold the purse strings, the team that made Foxy and it’s associated brands the big names they are today, remain the same.
In the coming months we are bound to see even more changes and for bingo players the world over, these are exciting times!
