BOGOF Bingo advert

One of the new bingo sites that have recently opened their virtual doors has also launched with a bingo advert featuring the infamous DJ Talent from Britain’s Got Talent. The BOGOF Bingo advert features the star of the ITV programme rapping about the new online bingo site but how does it fare in comparison with other adverts on our television screens? The main thing any advert for online bingo has to do is make the bingo sites name stick in the memory of the viewers and the BOGOF Bingo advert definitely manages this.

The opening scene for the advert shows a pair of Union Jacky curtains that open to reveal the start of the BOGOF Bingo advert, DJ Talent, who immediately starts rapping the following:

“I say BOGOF, you say BINGO
Britains got bingo, it’s BOGOF Bingo
We say “You buy one, you get one free” (repeat)”

Now DJ Talent may not have the charm and sophistication of a certain canid friend from another online bingo site, nor does he have the comic factor offered by Vic Reeves in previous commercials for a well known site but he does manage to make the name BOGOF Bingo stick in your brain! However, how long before the Advertising Standards Agency receive a complaint that implies the BOGOF Bingo advert may appeal to minors simply because the star is a well known face from a family orientated Saturday night show or that rapping is something that appeals to young adults rather than the over 18’s?

Here is the BOGOF Bingo advert for all of our readers who have yet to see this TV bingo commercial:
