Bingo Night Live comes to an end

Just three months after its launch, ITV's late night bingo show Bingo Night Live was hailed a massive success boasting nightly audiences in excess of 50,000. 

Bingo Night live was acknowledged as PartyGamings ticket to the big time with live interactive and online games of bingo available each evening and prizes of £1,000 up for grabs, Bingo Night live looked to have gained a dedicated following on bingo enthusiasts. PartyGaming who provided the bingo product for ITV are understood to have invested significant resources in creating a website which would operate in conjunction with the TV show.

But the past couple of months have seen audiences reduce significantly and late last month the show was axed.

An ITV source commented:-

"It was an interesting experiment but the viewing figures were not high enough and while the participation levels were OK in terms of people playing online, the numbers who actually wanted to play for cash were minuscule. The numbers just didn't add up in commercial terms."

The series ran for 99 shows between 4th June and 15th November, hosting an incredible 330 games on interactive bingo, but the shows budget was cut after being on air for just 3 months and the show was broadcast twice per week, instead of the initial 5.

Bingo Night live broke the record for the biggest ever interactive bingo win in October when a player from Margate won an impressive £60,500, and a month later ITV announced that the end of the season.
