Big Brother Bingo
We are now in the final series of Celebrity Big Brother and whilst some will mourn the loss of this iconic reality show, others will be rejoicing! Many online bingo sites tailor their promotions for reality TV shows offering tickets to live finals or memorabilia but did you know that the St.Minver network actually own the domain for Big Brother Bingo?
With the Big Brother series set to end after next Summer’s run, the Big Brother Bingo domain is set to become worthless for the operators of the St Minver network. Although the cost of such a domain is not astronomical, maybe they are kicking themselves that they didn’t launch an online bingo site a couple of years ago when this program was enjoying mass audience figures.
However when talking to a bingo oracle we are led to believe that Big Brother Bingo had been launched and then taken down again!
The most popular series of Big Brother was in 2002 and viewing figures averaged around 5 million, the last series averaged just 2 million viewers, figures that led to the show being axed. The domain, Big Brother Bingo was actually purchased in May 2005 so had someone pulled their proverbial finger out, there could have been quite a bit of revenue made from the domain that now has no value at all.
Could we start seeing sites like DancingOnIce Bingo launch, or maybe a Strictly Bingo? Strictly Bingo is actually owned by Globacom, the software provider for sites like Foxy Bingo, Wink Bingo and 888Ladies – maybe a new bingo site soon to launch?
Reality TV is big business and it wouldn’t surprise us to see online bingo sites launching with names similar to those of favourites amongst the viewing public.
