All in the name of bingo
When bingo sites first launched onto the internet it was easy to come up with a great name for your bingo site. Some of the first sites to launch includes Bingos.co.uk and Think Bingo, pretty good names for online bingo sites. However as more and more sites launch it must be getting harder to get a brand name to go with. It’s all in the name of bingo or of late, NOT in the name of bingo!
So imagine the scenario, you want to launch your very own bingo site and you think you have a great brand name how do you get your site to stand out from the crowd? We can give you a couple of examples, one good, one bad from recent online bingo sites that we have seen launch on the internet.
Tasty Bingo – launched with what at first seems like a rather silly name for an online bingo site but when you visit the site and see the logo, you can see where they are going with it. The logo for Tasty Bingo is a succulent strawberry, the advert for Tasty Bingo sees a ‘tasty’ chef cooking up a bingo storm and all the bingo rooms have food related names.
Congo Bingo – a poor name for an online bingo site but unlike Tasty Bingo this site doesn’t carry through the name, it all stops at the homepage. Whilst the front page has a jungle theme it’s not carried through.
Now this can be attributed to the fact that Tasty Bingo is run by Daub Ltd, a powerhouse in the world of online bingo and is a standalone site. Congo Bingo on the other hand is a networked site on the Fun Bingo Network powered by the Cozy Games software who, in my opinion, throw up sites willy nilly with no thought or effort.
So whilst a name of an online bingo site is important, thought, effort and of course marketing also play a massive part!
