A new advert for 888 Ladies?

When 888 Ladies Bingo first launched in the world of internet bingo their advertising campaign featured Vic Reeves dressed as a woman however the most recent campaigns have seen “Bingo Superstars” in four different adverts. The news today is that Grey, the advertising company responsible for the campaign, have resigned so are we soon to see a new advert for 888 Ladies Bingo?

According to an article in Marketing Week it is believed the relationship with Grey and 888 has broken down in a dispute over costs; surprising really as it was just five months ago that Grey landed the £3 million advertising account from CHI & Partners.

The Vic Reeves advert for 888 Ladies Bingo, in our opinion, was far superior to the most recent offerings from this online bingo site. The Bingo Superstar offerings seem to loose touch with the brand that they had worked hard to build a name for so a new advert for 888 Ladies Bingo might be a blessing in disguise.

The current Bingo Superstars adverts include two  60 seconds adverts and two shorter versions and each depict a tv bingo player each fulfilling a dream after winning whilst playing online bingo at 888 Ladies Bingo. The set of adverts lacked the “je ne sais quoi” that was apparent in the adverts featuring Vic Reeves; the comedian was not commissioned for another term, again because of mounting costs we believe.

Let’s hope that a new advert for 888 Ladies Bingo brings back that certain something found in the commercials featuring Vic Reeves and reconnects with the brand.
