888 Announce Increase in Revenue
The UK’s 2nd largest online gaming business 888 Holdings has confirmed that its revenue for the 2nd quarter of 2008 rose by an impressive 33%.
The increase was supported by a sharp increase in the number of online customers visiting the 888 sites. It is estimated that the 888 online sites boast an estimated 215,000 regular visitors to its popular online bingo and casino sites.
The launch of the 888Ladies online bingo operations served to rebuild the company’s income which had been severely affected by the US prohibition of overseas online gaming operations in 2006. The move into the online bingo market appears to have been completely successful. 888ladies.com is aimed solely at women and has proved to be the most rapidly growing of the groups’ enterprises.
The total online operating revenue for the 3 months ending 30th June 2008 was revealed to be in the region of £35million.
The chief executive of 888 Holdings commented:-
Our various strategic initiatives are progressing well and given the good start to the third quarter and our clear business strategy we are confident of delivering future growth in 2008.
The rise in status of online bingo is in marked disparity to the waning success of land based bingo halls across the UK
