The state of Kentucky USA hit eGaming headlines recently when the state court ordered that 141 online gaming domain names be cut off from the public realm, declaring that the sites were being used to encourage gambling bingo which is forbidden by law throughout Kentucky.
The catalogue of domains listed numerous online bingo, poker and casino sites, as well the domains of some globally recognised software suppliers like Microgaming.
Since the reports of the civil action were revealed, increasing numbers of online bingo operators who supply online entertainment for bingo fans in the US have become progressively more concerned over future stability of their businesses.
Many online bingo operators are accepted to encounter considerable financial losses as they attempt to launch their re-branded products into the online marketplace.
In excess of 20 legal representatives were in attendance for the initial court hearing, but declined to disclose which online bingo, poker or casino sites they were each representing, bringing the hearing to a standstill.
The case was suspended and has since been rescheduled for Tuesday 7th October.
